Bettina

Out and about today, absolutely freezing outside. As I make my way back from a photo shoot near the castle, bogged down with a quadrillion pieces of equipment, the smell of fish and chips hits me. My nose takes me closer to the where the lovely aroma oozes from and voila I am greeted by Bettina. Really, what a nice lady. She literally makes my day!

“How are you honey?”, she says as if I had known her for the last decade. “Come on in from the cold - let’s get you warm.” “My Susie always runs around in the freezing weather…” and she proceeds to tell me about her grandchildren. No, really, it was hart-warming. But the best thing about her, that incredible smile. It says it all - people matter to her. Good reminder to stop in the midst of all busyness and talk to real people. Oh and if you are ever in Carlisle make sure to stop by Betty’s Chippy!
